Kindness.org, Just do something nice.

Hi everyone.

I’ve just seen a video on Facebook that made me smile, then almost cry. Mainly because it made me realise how bad I am at keeping in touch with people.

It was posted by one of my friends from another country, Remon V Rossum or as I knew him for many years Herbie205. We met via an online gaming community, playing Killzone 2 on the PS3. It was a great time and I’m gutted that we have never met in person. Maybe one day. He did something nice for me through our time gaming together by showing me tips and tricks to become a better player, putting up with my gaming “noobieness” and is always showing me things that I’d never get to see in my life. Thanks buddy. This his him on the right.

The premise of this video was that you offer to do something, anything, nice for someone else. Random acts of kindness to make the world a better place. A little like the film pay it forward.

I’m going to give this a try, to try and do something nice for someone everyday and actively engage in their lives. I’m starting tomorrow. In fact no, as per my last post, JFDI I’m off to start now by contacting friends that I’ve not spoke to for a while and arranging some personal contact time. That sounded weirder than it had to. 😂

Here’s the site. www.kindness.org Please watch the video and decide, what will you  do today that’s nice? Let me know in the comments below or via twitter @Poostix2003 for almost instant feedback.

  1. I’m horrendous at staying in touch with people. It may sound like a hollow gesture but I always say that just because I’m not around it doesn’t mean all those people aren’t in my thoughts. From childhood friends to people I’ve met blogging. Nice article 🙂

    1. I know it’s tough and the effort to make the connection is simple, but seems so difficult to fit it in. I’m only around the corner for most of my friends and I probably see them 3 times a year? I need to make the effort more. And thanks for the feedback. It’s much appreciated.

  2. I tried The World Needs More Love Letters. The idea struck a chord with me – we are more connected but also more lonely. The idea of writing to someone to pick them up seemed appropriate.
