OK, so real sparring started on Saturday, I’m feeling it today.
It consisted of what seems like an hour of me getting punched in the face.
Want to know a secret, I kind of liked it, not enough that I want it to happen often, but enough that I’m not too scared of it anymore.
Things I learned on Saturday.
1) I’m not as fast as I thought I was,
2) Being punched in the face hurts,
3) Punching someone is harder than it looks on tv. For some reason people seem to move! Who knew?
4) 2 minutes is a long time when your in the ring,
5) The same 2 minutes feels like 10 seconds after the event.
I think that if I take the lessons learned onboard I’ll have a better chance of avoiding a punch or two next week, but if my whole life is anything to go by, I probably won’t. I’m a slow learner.
On the plus side, my prickly heat rash is going down, still itchy, but definitely going away. The doctor prescribed me some moisturiser, but like most blokes I’ll probably pick it up in about 6 months.
Whilst I was at the doctors I decided to have a weigh in and I’m down to 113kg that’s 5kg lost, or 10lb, in about 12 days. I need to keep this up.
More motivated than ever to lose this puppy fat, I’m 36 now, it’s about time I think.
That’s all for an update for now. One last thing. Here is my weight loss pic for this week. It highlights that I’m going in the right direction when you compare it to the first one. Which can be seen half way down this post from 2 weeks ago. It also shows the extent of the prickly heat I’m suffering with.
If you would like to see the final result of all this work in action you can buy a ticket for what looks like a great night of 10 fights in an arena environment. Tickets go on sale at 10am on the 27th of June. If you let me know before that I will reserve you some tickets.
Buying a ticket from me enters you into a raffle to pick my walk out music. š
That’s all for now kids as always you can follow me on Twitter for bite sized updates on progress.
